Welcome to USB (Shalom University of Bunia) as we celebrate 50 years of Christ-centered teaching in Congo. For 46 years, USB (then Bunia Theological Seminary) only offered training in Pastoral and Biblical Theology. In 2007, the University opened four new faculties so that in 2010, for the first time, we had students graduating in Development, Administration and Management, Agricultural Science and Science as well as Theology.

It is our desire that USB be a place where both Academic and Spiritual Excellence are visible in the lives of students and staff so that we may see the transformation of society through Christ Jesus. We seek to prepare students to respond to the needs of the Evangelical Church as well as the wider African society.

It has been a pleasure to see our student numbers grow over the last few years as we wholeheartedly believe that the development of the DRC is only possible and sustainable when this development is overseen by leaders who have a solid relationship with God resulting in a concern for justice and the responsible management of DRC’s natural and human resources.
