Dr Atido succeeds Dr Katho
Shalom University will transition to a new leadership team in August. Dr Katho (left), who has led the University for 14 years, reached the statutory limits of his role as President and the board chose a new team. The official presentation of the new management committee was made at the last chapel of the year, June 23. Dr George Atido (right) is the new University President. He did his doctorate in World Christianity (history and missions mixed) at Africa International University in Nairobi. He was prepared for the position over the last two years since finishing his doctorate. He had been on the Shalom University staff prior to undertaking his doctoral studies and is well known to everyone here. Dr Katho will continue on as a senior member of the Doctoral Studies program and a teacher in the University. The Doctoral Studies Center which has been his vision for a number of years is now nearing completion and is an appropriate final project of his time in leadership. The official opening is planned during graduation weekend July 31.
